From a background in Exhibition Design, Chrissie Morgan gained a Post-Graduate Distinction in Fine Art/Woven Tapestry at West Dean College, one of few specialist studios dedicated to weaving in the world. Exhibiting nationally and internationally, Chrissie now works as a professional Tapestry Weaver and contemporary artist. In Gallery 4, members of the public are welcome to observe the production of both accessible and experimental weft-faced tapestry in mohair and wool, commissioned portraits in all mediums, browse and buy from a range of paintings, beaded jewellery, gifts and cards in her sunny studio - open Tuesday-Sunday, 10am – 5pm.
A range of workshops/classes are also offered throughout the year in Creative Drawing (a revolution in seeing and thinking) and woven tapestry techniques. Guest tutors offer ceramics and watercolour painting.
Influenced by popular culture, music and history, themes such as identity, memory, and home are explored by this dedicated artist with humour and passion.
